Agistri Island
Agistri is a small Greek island located in the Saronic Gulf, approximately 55 km (34 miles) southwest of Athens and just a short distance from Aegina. Covering an area of about 13 square kilometres, it is one of the smallest inhabited islands in the region.
The island is famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, pine forests, peaceful atmosphere, and beautiful beaches. Unlike the larger and busier islands, Agistri offers a relaxed environment, making it an ideal destination for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying nature.
Most cruise guests spend their time in Skala, the island’s main tourist village, where they can swim at the nearby beach, enjoy traditional Greek cafés and tavernas, or simply relax by the sea. Everything in Skala is within easy walking distance of the port, making it an excellent stop for visitors with limited time.
Metopi Islet
Metopi is a small, uninhabited Greek islet located in the Saronic Gulf, between AeginaIsland and Agistri Island. It is known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, peaceful surroundings, and untouched natural beauty. There are no permanent residents, roads, shops, or tourist facilities on the islet.
Metopi is visited exclusively by boat and is a popular swimming stop for the swimming cruise departing from Athens. Guests visit Metopi to swim, snorkel, relax, and enjoy the exceptionally clear sea away from busy beaches.
Aegina Island
Aegina Island is one of the islands in the Saronic Gulf, just 17 miles (27 km) from Athens City. The capital is the town of Aegina (pop. 7,410 in the 2001 census), situated at the northwestern end of the island. Due to its proximity to Athens, it is a popular quick getaway during the summer months, with quite a few Athenians owning second houses on the island.
If you only have a few days in Athens and want to see something beyond the city, this is a useful way to spend one of them. You get two island stops, time in the water and plenty of scenery along the way. The VIP upgrade made the long day easier because we always had a comfortable base onboard.

This felt very different from our city tours. We wore swimsuits, sat in the sun, had drinks, wandered around the islands and jumped into the sea. It was exactly the lighter day our itinerary needed.

I was travelling solo, and the mix of island time, swimming and VIP comfort worked really well. The Athens pickup and return made everything easy, and I liked being able to choose between the open sun deck and quieter protected areas. Drinks were included throughout the day, and the Metopi swim was the highlight. The water was clear and refreshing, and the music on the return made for a fun finish. One of my favourite days in Athens.
